Reformed Churchmen

We are Confessional Calvinists and a Prayer Book Church-people. In 2012, we remembered the 350th anniversary of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer; also, we remembered the 450th anniversary of John Jewel's sober, scholarly, and Reformed "An Apology of the Church of England." In 2013, we remembered the publication of the "Heidelberg Catechism" and the influence of Reformed theologians in England, including Heinrich Bullinger's Decades. For 2014: Tyndale's NT translation. For 2015, John Roger, Rowland Taylor and Bishop John Hooper's martyrdom, burned at the stakes. Books of the month.     The Canadian Army Pay Corps is organized.
  • 1/1/1923
    The National Defence Act, which was passed in June 1922, takes effect, creating the Department of National Defence.
  • 1/1/1935
    The first RCAF peacetime awards were announced for Squadron Leader R. S. Grandy, Flight Sergeant H. J. Winny and Flight Lieutenant W. R. May.
  • 1/1/1940
    RCAF Overseas Headquarters is established in London.
  • 1/1/1943
    Six bombers from No. 427 Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Force, carry out No.6 (RCAF) Bomber Group's first operation, laying mines near the Frisian Islands.
  • 1/1/1946
    The Royal Canadian Naval Reserve and the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve together become the Royal Canadian Navy (Reserve). From this date officers of the Regular Force and Reserve wore the same sleeve lace.
